Detroit Pistons Moving In Different Direction
Joe Dumars has decided that the Detroit Pistons need to move in a different direction which does not include Flip Saunders who guided the Pistons to a 176-70 regular season record and a 30-21 record in the playoffs, but no NBA Finals championships.
Saunders did a very good job in Detroit, but people measure you on Championships and if you do not win any they will replace you and that is what has happened to Flip Saunders. Detroit was a very good team under him, but no NBA Championships to show for it and that will always get you fired.
Avery Johnson has been a named mention along with Terry Porter. It will be interesting to see who Detroit chooses as their next head coach.
