Major League Baseball Hands Down Suspensions After Brawl

Published by ken77 at 10:24 am under MLB Baseball Edit This

It only took Major League Baseball one day to hand down suspensions after Thursday’s brawl between the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays.  Coco Crisp was suspended for seven games while James Shields the pitcher who hit him got six games.  Jon Lester got 5 games and Sean Casey will be sitting for the Red Sox. For The Rays Jonny Gomes and Edwin Jackson each got five games and Carl Crawford was hit with four games while Akinori Iwamura will sit out three games.

I think this probably the most suspensions I have ever seen from one game and I am sure this thing is probably not over from these two teams. They play again and I am sure we will likely see more fireworks from this. When you have two teams that are winning and bad blood boils over it seems to stay around for a very long time.
