It seems the Milwaukee Brewers have been dealing with a lot lately and it just got worse maybe. First they lose the wild-card lead they had, Ned Yost their manager is given the boot and now Ben Sheets goes out in the second inning with a sore elbow. I guess that is just the way it has been for the Brewers this year who never seem to get a break.

Out of all of this the still have a chance for the playoffs and last night they finally beat the Chicago Cubs by a score of 6-2 behind Prince Fielder’s three hits. Fielder during the last few weeks has been hitting the ball very well and is one guy that they need to sign quickly to a long term deal or he could be gone with others from this team. I think you could see a big turnover from the current Brewer team we are looking at today.

The Brewers are done. There’s no way the Phillies and Mets won’t both make the playoffs. Last year’s collapse aside, the Mets are a good team, and I don’t expect the Cubs to have a whole lot to play for by the time they visit New York next week, meaning they might be able to pick up a few cheap wins. It’s sort of pathetic the way the Brewers mortgaged their future on two pitchers only to miss the playoffs.
