Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched the Boston Red Sox to a 1-0 series lead as he was dominant in a 2-0 win for the Red Sox in Tampa. Many times it looked like he was in trouble, but he always got out of it. He maynot had his best stuff, but he was able to make pitches when he needed to and in the playoffs that is exactly what you have to do.

Tampa Bay Rays should not feel too bad though as they got base-runners and had there chances, but was not able to get the one hit they needed to get going. Most of the credit should go to Matsuzaka as he made all the pitches he needed when it counted and that is why the Red Sox won.
