Big 12 Championship: Texas, Texas Tech, Or Oklahoma?

Published by ken77 under College Football Edit This

ncf_g_mccoy2_412.jpg

Well the Big 12 Championship pairing will be decided by voters and not on the field where it should be. With Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Texas all winning this week we have a three way tie to see who will get to play Missouri in the Big 12 Championship. The tiebreaker is the BCS Standings.  Whatever team has the highest BCS ranking gets to play in the Big 12 Title game.

Is this really fair? No but it is how they decide it. There are so many great teams this year in college football and especially in the Big 12. It does not matter who gets to go to the Big 12 Championship game you will have two very unhappy teams and they have a right to be. It will be an interesting vote and most likely it will be Oklahoma with Texas and Texas Tech on the outside looking in. I guess we can thank the stupid BCS for this as without a playoff system things like this will happen.

Colt McCoy Texas Make Their Case For Championship Game

Published by ken77 under College Football Edit This

colt.jpgColt McCoy knew he needed a big game especially with a national audience watching so him and his Texas Longhorns went out and destroyed Texas A&M by a score of 49-9. McCoy used his feet and his arm to help propel Texas to the easy win. McCoy played great last night as it could be the last time the voters get to see Texas and lasting impressions are very important it seems.

Will Texas get to play in the National Championship game is really anyone’s guess right now. There still is a number of football games to be played and you must play them out before Texas will really know what is going on for them. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens before we know if this win got them there or not.

Michael Vick Could Be Headed Back To The NFL

Published by ken77 under NFL Football Edit This

 mick1.jpg

Michael Vick pleaded guilty today to state charges of dog fighting in hopes that he will get a early release and can head back to the NFL. Many people do not want to see that, but just as many do. Vick made some mistakes, but if you can play football someone will give him a chance to play. Right now there are many teams that are in the need of a quarterback.

Some of those teams include, Tampa Bay, Detroit, Kansas City, Minnesota, Chicago, San Francisco just to name a few. Almost half of the teams in the NFL said they would consider giving Vick a tryout. This just goes to show you that teams want to win and if they think Vick can help them they will jump at a chance to give him that. I guess we will find out soon enough if he is given that.

McNabb To Start Thursday

Published by ken77 under NFL Football Edit This

 nfl_a_mcnabbreid_412.jpg

According to the Philadelphia Eagles and Andy Reid Donovan McNabb will start this week. Sunday McNabb had a rough game and was benched for the backup quarterback and he did not do anything either. The Eagles have struggled all year and so has McNabb. In my opinion it looks like McNabb days in Philadelphia are about over and this could be his final few games.

McNabb still has some value so maybe the Eagles can still get something out of him in the off-season if they decide to move him. McNabb still has some years left and I think a change of scenery is probably the best for him and the Eagles in the future. Look for the Eagles to make many off-season changes and McNabb could be one of them.

Terrell Owens, Romo Lead Cowboys To Big Victory

Published by ken77 under NFL Football Edit This

 to2.jpg

Terrell Owens asked for the ball and he got it and did a lot with it today7 when he got it. Owens caught 7 passes for 213 yards and one touchdown. The Dallas Cowboys offense sure looks much better when they bring the offense through Terrell Owens first. Tony Romo also was on fire as well. Romo threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns to help the Cowboys beat the 49ers by a score of 35-22.

The Dallas Cowboys have now won  two games in a row and look to make it three as they have a game on Thanksgiving. Part of the resurgence the Cowboys have seen is because of getting Tony Romo back. He makes a big difference with his feet and his arm. You can just see it by the way the Cowboys offense plays. As long as Romo does not get hurt the Cowboys should be fine.

Ohio State Uses Big Plays To Stop Michigan

Published by ken77 under College Football Edit This

ncf_u_buckeyes1_sw_412.jpg

Ohio State used five big plays and the Michigan football team ended their season on a sour note as rival Ohio State crushed them 42-7. Chris “Beanie” Wells and Terrelle Pryor used his arm to help lead Ohio State to the win.

For Michigan it was a scene that they have seen many times before. They turned the ball over and missed tackles when it mattered the most. For Michigan fans at least they will no longer have to watch this team anymore this year. Losing nine games is something unheard of Michigan until this year.

Annika Sorenstam Misses Cut Ends Glorious Career In Women’s Golf

Published by ken77 under Golf Edit This

 anna.jpg

Annika Sorenstam was hoping that she would end her career with a win, but it was not meant to be as she missed the cut at the ADT Championship and will not be playing in the final rounds. It is a shame as you would hope he she would have made the last cut of her career, but things happen.

Sorenstam had a very special career through the years even playing with the men a few times on some special events. She could drive the ball very well and probably could have out drive many men on the tour she was that good. Annika will go down as one of the best women golfers ever and will be missed.

Phil Savage Sends Nasty Email Back To Fan

Published by ken77 under NFL Football Edit This

Cleveland Browns GM Phil Savage return an email from an angry fan with some words that no GM should use when talking to a fan no matter what he said to Savage. Fans are passionate about their team and when they think someone is not a doing a good job they will be the first people to say something about it. You cannot fault a fan for loving their team and wanting the best.

Savage is in a position that no matter what any fans write to you in a letter or email you have to always show respect to the fans even if you totally disagree with them. The email he sent back to the fan is something that you cannot do. It shows a lack of respect to the fans and all it does is make Savage look bad. It is best to answer them in a timely manner and using profanity is something you most definitely cannot do.

North Carolina Rolls Past Kentucky With Ease

Published by ken77 under College Basketball Edit This

153.gif

After just a few minutes of play in the North Carolina-Kentucky game you could easily see why North Carolina was No.1 and Kentucky was a team searching for who they were. North Carolina got out to a early lead and never looked back as they defeated Kentucky by a score 77-58. Kentucky turned the ball over a lot and when you do that against a team like North Carolina you will see your fate real quickly.

Deon Thompson taking the place of Injured Tyler Hansbrough scored 20 points to lead the Tarheels who had a balanced attack and looked like the No.1 team in the country. For Kentucky it was back to the drawing board as unless they cut down on the turnovers it will be a very long season for the Wildcats and all their fans including Ashley Judd.

Lebron James Lead Cavaliers To 8th Straight Win

Published by ken77 under NBA Basketball Edit This

james.jpg

Lebron James scored 31 points to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to their 8th straight win as the beat the New Jersey Nets by a score of 106-82. James also set another record by being the fastest player to score 11,000 points. That really is not a surprise since James is really the only player that can score for the Cavaliers off the dribble so it is natural that he would set that record.

For James he has to be getting tired of carrying the Cavaliers it seems every night. He always seems to be the leading score every night and I just wonder how much longer he is going to be able to do that. There gets a point where he has to get tired of it and want to go somewhere else.
