New Years Day Bowl Game Roundup
The one great thing about this time of the year is some great College Football so let’s get started today on some of the games and see what happened to your favorite team. I know mine won today.
First game of the day pitted South Carolina against Iowa which was an interesting match-up. Iowa got 121 yards and three touchdowns from Shonn Greene as they routed South Carolina by a score of 31-10. After the game Greene declared he will skip his Senior season and enter the NFL draft. Greene has been one player on the Hawkeyes who has been very consistent.
In the Capital One Bowl we had Michigan State taking on Georgia and this was a good game to watch. Matt Stafford struggled in the first half, but he came to life in the second half and led the Bulldogs to a 24-12 victory over Michigan State. Stafford was 20-31 with three touchdowns and 249 yards.Strafford will need to decided if he is going to come back for another year or leave.
Bo Pelini took over a Nebraska team that was not very good and his Cornhuskers took on Clemson who had a up and down season. This was a back and forth game with Nebraska finally getting the win with a good defensive stand at the end by a score of 26-21. Joe Ganz threw two touchdown passes to lead the Nebraska offense. Pelini has done a fine job and his Cornhuskers should be improved for next year as well.
