Ole Miss Shocks Texas Tech 47-34

Published by ken77 under College Football Edit This

img11217829.jpgOle Miss wanted to prove that they belong and with a 47-34 win over Texas Tech the Ole Miss Rebels have just done that. Graham Harrell and the Red Raiders seem to get all the press in the build-up, but Ole Miss proved they belong and opened some eyes around the country as well. Ole Miss got three touchdown passes from Jevan Snead and cornerback-returner Marshay Green gave them some big plays as well. The one guy though who may have made the biggest impact was Dexter McCluster who rushed for 97 yards and also caught six passes for 83 yards to help pace Ole Miss.

For Graham Harrell  it was another record breaking season and he accomplished many things like beating Texas, but the National Championship eluded them just when he thought they might win it. Harrell threw for 364 yards and 4 touchdowns in the loss and will move on to the next level to take his talents. Harrell is a class act and will be missed at Texas Tech in the coming years.

Peyton Manning AP NFL MVP

Published by ken77 under NFL Football Edit This

img11217259.jpgPeyton Manning has added another trophy to his case and this time it was the AP NFL MVP award making his third one. Manning had a rough start to the season, but has gotten better and he is one of the main reasons the Colts are one of the hottest teams right now. Peyton thanked his teammates and told people you win as a team and lose as a team. Peyton has always been a team player and he knows you cannot do it alone. He was well deserving of the award.

Others who got votes were Chad Pennington who help the Miami Dolphins go from last place to first and Michael Turner also got some votes. This running-back came to Atlanta and has really shined after leaving San Diego. Adrian Peterson and Pittsburgh James Harrison also got some votes as well.

USC Makes Statement Against Penn State

Published by ken77 under College Football Edit This

USC made a statement loud and clear to Penn State and the BCS voters as they dismantled the Nittany Lions by a score of  38-24. Mark Sanchez threw for over 400 yards and four touchdowns and for good measure ran one in himself to give the Trojans the win. USC looked as good as advertised and it did help that Penn State made some costly mistakes in the first half, but when you get a team down you have to take it to them and that is exactly what USC did. The Trojans without a doubt are one of the best teams in the country and the sad part they will finish second at best in the final results.

I think USC can play with anyone in the country and probably beat them as well. This is why we need a playoff system in college football. USC is a prime example of a team that will not get a chance to play for a National Championship and they should. Last time I checked their record it has only one loss just like the two teams that are playing for the National Championship. I guess one day we will have a playoff system and for me not soon enough.
