It seemed last night that everything the Orlando Magics were shooting from three point land was falling as they hit a record 23 three pointers in a 139-107 rout of the Kings. In fact Orlando shot an outstanding 62 percent from the arc which is hard to believe. Sometimes it is your night and everyone was getting in on the act. Even guys off the bench who seldom play were hitting three pointers. That is how it works sometimes when your in a zone and last night Orlando was just that. Right now Orlando is a team that could be dangerous in the playoffs. I guess we will see if they can keep it up though.

Jodie Meeks Drops 54 Points In Kentucky Upset Of Tennessee

Published by ken77 under College Basketball Edit This

Jodie Meeks has seen the highs and the lows of Kentucky Wildcat basketball since he has been there. Last night had to be one of the highest high’s for him as he dropped in 54 points and scored 60 percent of Kentucky’s points as they beat Tennessee by a score of 90-72. Meeks beat the old record that was held by Dan Issel who had 53 points. Meeks hit 10 3 pointers to go along with  14 free throws and 5 two point shots in his record night.

Meeks wears number 23 which isn’t surprising as it seems that number has something special about it and scoring points as well. For Meeks being compared to people like Dan Issel is mind boggling he said at the news conference after the game. Meeks has always been a very good player for Kentucky and it is nice to see him get some recognition he deserves.
