National Signing Day Has Gone Plain Crazy
Today was the first day that players could declare what colleges they wanted to play college football at. The signing day use to be just an ordinary day, but that has changed with the Internet and the rise of College football in recent years. More and more Colleges are now holding press conferences to let players announce their intentions of attending their college.
For me I think this is getting out of hand and I wish that they would not televise them, but we are in new age and I think it will just get worse. Colleges are promising many things to convince kids to sign with their college and I can imagine all the cut throat things these schools are doing behind the scenes to get recruits. I guess the old adage is still sticks and that is all is fair in the college football recruiting game.
There is even websites that grade an incoming class and each team is rated. This is all and good, but the truth is you really do not know which kids will be great players and which will not. It’s a shoot of the dice and you hope your class pans out, but you really never know. That is the fun in college football and the fans love National Signing Day no matter how much I despise it.
