The Orlando Magics weren’t suppose to be much of a team without suspended Dwight Howard in Philadelphia, but they showed they are more then a one man team. All five starters for the Orlando Magics were in double figures and they crushed the Philadelphia 76ers by a score of 114-89. Rashard Lewis led the Magics with 29 points and with this win the Magics will move on to the second round.
I thought the 76ers would play much better then they did, but a lot has to do with the Orlando magic players shooting the ball very well. When you get over five guys in double figures it is hard to be a team that has balanced scoring like that.

Cleveland 79 Final
Detroit 68
Detroit who thought playing at home would make a difference played well for about three quarters then Lebron James took over like he usually does. James scored 11 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter and that was all the Cavaiers needed as they rolled to another win in the playoffs.
Orlando 94 Final
Philadelphia 96
Thaddeus Young thought about passing to someone else, but when he lost control of the ball he had no choice but do it himself and he did. His layup with two seconds left gave the 76ers a win and a 2-1 series lead over the Orlando Magics. Orlando again did not play much defense and when you do that you will not win games.
Portland 83 Final
Houston 86
Luis Scola scored 19 points and the Houston Rockets defense was able to slow down Brandon Roy this time and get a hard earned victory for Houston as they are now up 2-1 in their seris with Portland.

David Bush pitched 7 2/3 strong innings for the Brewers and had a no-hitter up until then before losing it. Philadelphia’s ace Cole Hamels got hit by a line drive in the game and had to leave early. The Brewers won the game by a score of 6-1.

Tony Gonzalez was shipped to the Atlanta Falcons for a second round pick in 2010. Gonzalez has been rumored to being traded the last few years so this deal should really not come as much of a surprise. This deal really helps out the Atlanta Falcons and Matt Ryan as they will have another target for him to throw to. Gonzalez has caught over 900 passes in his career and has also amassed over 10,000 yards receiving along with 76 touchdown passes as well.
Other news it looks like the trade to send Braylon Edwards to the New York Giants probably will not happen after all. I do look for Edwards to be moved eventually, but to who if not the Giants. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

Jake Delhomme also signed a five year extension which really surprised me. The deal is worth 42.5 million with 20 million dollars in guarantees along with it. After the poor performance that the Panthers had in the playoffs and his injuries lately this kind of surprise me.

Mike Brown has been named the NBA Coach Of The Year which really should not come as a surprise to anyone. Brown help lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to the best record in the league and the No.1 seed in the NBA Playoffs. Just a few years ago many people thought he would never be able to handle this job.
Of course one factor that really helps Coach Brown is having a guy like Lebron James on the team as it makes coaching so much easier. Mike Brown though does make sure his players understand what is going on and James likes playing for Coach Brown which makes coaching the Cavaliers much easier. Brown got 55 first place votes and is a natural leader and it seems right now he is the perfect fit for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

I guess anymore no matter what sport you are in steroids are everywhere and that includes cycling. Tyler Hamilton announced that he is retiring from cycling after he failed a drug test which said he had the steroid DHEA an over-the-counter herbal antidepressant. He knew it was on the ban list so it a way it was his own fault. This is second offense so it was probably best for him to just retire anyway.
He also has some other issues he is going through so by retiring now he can get his life back on track. It seems no matter what sport we talk about anymore drugs play a big role in it and cycling is just another one we can add to the list.

It seems the Cleveland Browns are making news about some players they maybe getting rid of and today is no different. Many news outlets is reporting that Braylon Edwards will be traded to the New York Giants for draft picks and maybe a player. The Giants and the Browns just cannot come together on the player or package. Now Brady Quinn is the other player that is talked about and many stories are flying around about him as well.
Quinn was rumored heading to Denver, but the latest rumor is him going to the 49ers which I do not put much merit into. I do think Quinn will be moved because the Browns have not really come out and told everyone that Quinn was safe and was going to be a Cleveland Brown. I guess in the end when teams are silent about a player that player better start to worry.
