This week we lost an icon that thrilled everyone with his music and touched many lives. Most people do not equate Michael Jackson with sports, but his music still is used by ball players even after his death. After hearing of his death many Major League players asked to use some of his songs as they walk to the plate or out of the bullpen. Several Milwaukee Brewer players did and are planning to use them longer as a tribute and respect for the great entertainer.
Most people do not realize that Michael jackson crossed many different boundaries and sports was just another one that he touched. His music will be around forever and will be missed, but his legacy will live forever and you might just hear his music at your favorite ball park as well.

If you have been following Sports Hits for anytime you have realized that we love sports of all kinds and the people who play it. This is why I have come up with the Sports Hits Hall Of Fame. At the top of this blog you will see a link where you can click on to read everyday about our newest addition to the Hall Of Fame.
Now the people who will be added to the Sports Hits Hall Of Fame are players who may not have the stats you need to get to the regular Hall of Fame in their sport, but still made a valuable contribution to their teams and help them win. There are many deserving players out their so look for the first entry tomorrow. You can also send me nominations in on who you think should be there as well. It can come from any sport men or women does not matter. This should be a lot of fun and your input is always something I look forward to.

The Washington Huskies have been road warriors and for this they now can call themselves College Softball World Series Champions. Florida was considered the favorite to win this World Series, but the Huskies proved in the two game sweep that they had the metal to take on anybody. The Pac-10 has won 21 of the 27 Women’s College World Series titles which shows you how dominate the Pac-10 has been over the years.
For Florida they have been one of the best teams all year long, but they could not get the job done when it counted. The Gators have nothing to hang their heads about as they did everything they could. They just ran up against a Huskies team that was playing just as good as they were.
The College Softball World Series was another great one and I really enjoy watching all the games. It seems it gets bigger each year and I do not see that changing anytime soon.

Today we are starting something new and that is our Sportslady of the Day. Our first lady of the day is going to be Jennie Finch of Team USA Softball and a lady who has really excelled in Softball. She is very beautiful, but most of all she can play the game of softball better then most. She has worked very hard at her craft and deserves all the recognition that she gets these days.

Just wanted to drop some Christmas cheer to all the sports fans in the Internet world and wish some great new wishes to some teams that need it this coming year. First I want to give some holiday cheer to Seattle who has had a very rough year. They lost their basketball franchise and than the Mariners, and Seahawks were dreadful in 2008. Hopefully better things in sports will come in 2009 for this city.
Also would like to wish all sports fans everywhere a Merry Christmas and remember it’s not about how you play the game, it is about whether you win or lose. Just messing with everyone. Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

The Ohio State Buckeyes were told that their offense needed to come out of it’s shell. The bad news is that the people that felt their wrath was the Michigan State Spartans. Ohio State tooked five turnovers and made the most of them as they routed the Spartans by a score of 45-7.
Michigan State was supposed to be a big test for the Buckeyes before they played Penn State next week, but it was nothing like anyone expected. The Spartans played like they were totally lost and when you turn the ball over and miss tackles this is exactly what happens to you. Terrelle Pryor and Chris Wells played very well to lead the Buckeyes to the victory.

Many years ago you learn in life nothing is given and you must earn everything you get in life. Team USA softball found that out when they took on Japan and was on the short end of the 3-1 loss. This loss cost them the Gold Medal and Team USA goes home without the prize they wanted.
You have to tip your hat to Japan for giving Team USA the best game of the Olympics and they deserved to win the Gold as they earned it. Past accomplishments do not guarantee Gold as the Americans found out. This just goes to prove do not be to confident as on any given day you can be beat. If you do not believe me just as Team USA Softball about it. I am sure they have a story to tell you.

Jennie Finch continue he dominate pitching in the Olympics as she pitch five scoreless innings as the United States beat Taiwan by a score of 7-0. it was the 19th straight Olympic win for USA Softball that has been unstoppable the last few times in the Olympics.
People can now see why they want to eliminate a sport that the United States has owned in recent years. I hope they do not end it as many young ladies who have wanted to represent their country is softball will never get the chance. I guess we will see what happens.

Katie Burkhart tossed a four hitter and Kaitlin Cochran let her bat do the talking as the Arizona State Sun Devils routed the Texas A&M Aggies 11-0 to take the Women’s College Softball World Series Title. It was the first for Arizona State who won the best of three series 2-0.
As a freshman Burkhart almost called it quits after a 12-14 year where the Sun Devils only won four Pac-10 games all year long. Luckily for Sun Devil fans she came back and today she and her teammates are celebrating a Women’s World Series Title.
This years Women’s College Softball World Series and the games leading up to it were very good and I enjoyed watching them. These women play very hard and they want to win as badly as the men do. Hopefully in the future more people will start watching women’s sports, because they are really missing something really special.
