This week we lost an icon that thrilled everyone with his music and touched many lives. Most people do not equate Michael Jackson with sports, but his music still is used by ball players even after his death. After hearing of his death many Major League players asked to use some of his songs as they walk to the plate or out of the bullpen. Several Milwaukee Brewer players did and are planning to use them longer as a tribute and respect for the great entertainer.
Most people do not realize that Michael jackson crossed many different boundaries and sports was just another one that he touched. His music will be around forever and will be missed, but his legacy will live forever and you might just hear his music at your favorite ball park as well.

If you have been following Sports Hits for anytime you have realized that we love sports of all kinds and the people who play it. This is why I have come up with the Sports Hits Hall Of Fame. At the top of this blog you will see a link where you can click on to read everyday about our newest addition to the Hall Of Fame.
Now the people who will be added to the Sports Hits Hall Of Fame are players who may not have the stats you need to get to the regular Hall of Fame in their sport, but still made a valuable contribution to their teams and help them win. There are many deserving players out their so look for the first entry tomorrow. You can also send me nominations in on who you think should be there as well. It can come from any sport men or women does not matter. This should be a lot of fun and your input is always something I look forward to.

Ever heard of the name Lucas Glover, not many have, but now you must call him champion as he won the U.S. Open by two strokes over Phil Mickelson and David Duval. Mickelson wanted to win the trophy for his wife who is battling breast cancer and Duval played excellent rounds of golf to come out of nowhere to finish two strokes back.
Tiger Woods finished sixth four strokes back and was not happy with the round he produced which cost him any chance at the championship. Woods is not all the way back from his knee surgery and this is just one indication of that. You have to tip your hat to Lucas Glover who did everything he needed to do to win and now he can call himself a U.S. Open Champion.

Many people wonder how long it would take Tiger Woods to get things going and it looks like not too long at all. After struggling early in the Memorial Tournament he make clutch shots down the stretch to grab the win. Woods has been known about his great comebacks and this is just another example of it. It looks Tiger Woods is now ready to tackle the U.S. Open.

Everyone thinks that Tennis is the only sport that has hot ladies, but golf also has their fair share as well. Natalie Gulbis is one lady golfer that turns heads everywhere she goes and don’t look for that to change anytime in the future either. Gulbis started at a very early age in golf as she became interested at just 3 1/2 years old. By seven years old she won her first golf tournament and now has two professional wins. Gulbis does a lot of print work as well as this beauty has it all. Besides beauty she can swing a golf club with the best of them as well.

Phil Mickelson’s wife has been diagnosed with breast cancer and he will be leaving the tournament indefinitely to help support his wife in this very difficult time. Mickelson will be missed , but the most important part is getting his wife the best treatment possible. Hopefully things will work out for Phil and his wife and we can see him on the course once again. Our prayers go out to Phil and his wife during this difficult time right now.

Ready or not Tiger Woods will be returning to competitive golf once again after a layoff and surgery on his knee. He will return to defend his title at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship and the world cannot wait it seems. Some people are wondering if Tiger is returning too soon to competitive golf and if his injuries have fully healed.
Tiger Woods is a competitor and loves to play the game of golf and sitting out probably just kills him. It will be interesting to see how well he does in his first few tournaments and how his leg holds up as well. Woods is the kind of player even not 100 percent can beat most players and the fans are looking forward to seeing Tiger on the prowl once again. Golf needs Tiger Woods and right now I am sure the ratings will be sky high for his return and golf could not be any happier that is for sure.

Just wanted to drop some Christmas cheer to all the sports fans in the Internet world and wish some great new wishes to some teams that need it this coming year. First I want to give some holiday cheer to Seattle who has had a very rough year. They lost their basketball franchise and than the Mariners, and Seahawks were dreadful in 2008. Hopefully better things in sports will come in 2009 for this city.
Also would like to wish all sports fans everywhere a Merry Christmas and remember it’s not about how you play the game, it is about whether you win or lose. Just messing with everyone. Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
