The Baltimore Ravens did not start out fast, but neither did Brady Quinn or the Cleveland Browns. Baltimore’s defense punished Brady Quinn and the Browns offense on the way to an easy 16-0 win at Cleveland. The Browns were the same no matter who was at the helm horrible as usual.

Joe Flacco was efficient for the Ravens 13 for 18 and 155 yards.  Ray Rice scored on a 13-yard run on Baltimore’s first possession of the third quarter and safety Dawan Landry returned an interception of Quinn 48 yards for a touchdown on Cleveland’s next play as the Ravens overcame a horrendous start to win 16-0.

For the Browns and the Cleveland fans it was another reason to wonder if they will ever get it turned around. The Cleveland Browns maybe the worse team in the NFL. Where most of the bad teams are playing better it seems the Cleveland Browns are getting worse if that is possible.

It seems we have some problems in Big D again as Roy Williams and Tony Romo are just not on the same page. Now I am not one to say that there is a big problem yet, but it is getting there. Roy Williams was brought in to be the No. 1 receiver, but he has not even come close to that yet. Many people outside are pointing fingers to whose fault it really is.

Roy Williams has never been one of the best route runners and people have said he is lazy when it comes to give an 100 percent effort. After watching some tapes of him I will say he has given a good effort. It seems that him and Romo is just a step away from big plays. Many times either Romo throws the ball behind him or miss him when he is open.

This is beginning to be very frustrating for Williams who wants to be bigger part of the offense. Unless the Cowboys get Williams and Romo on the same page it is going to be tough on them. Williams can be a big playmaker, but you have to be on the same page. Romo and Williams have been working hard to correct the problem and we will see if gets better for these two. If not it could be Terrell Owens revisited all over again.

Every year Chicago Cub fans think this will be the season that will bring them a championship, but this year will not be that year. The Chicago Cubs have struggled around the .500 level most of the year and many factors contributed to this problem. One of the first thing is roster turn over was big coming into the season. The Cubs added Kevin Gregg and Milton Bradley and they have not really paid the dividends they hope for.

Toss in some key injuries to some key players and you have a team that is hovering around the .500 mark. Lou Pinella in my opinion has kept the Cubs in the race for a long time even though most of the year he has not had everyone he has needed. Sale of the Cubs also has breeded some problems as well.

The bottom line for Cubs fans it’s just another wait until next year deal. The Cubs have some good players, but they also have many question marks as well. After the sale is done the new owners will need to decide what direction the Cubs go. This could be crucial to their long term success in the future.

Iowa High School coach Ed Thomas funeral was attended by thousands which should not surprise anyone. Thomas was more than just a high school football coach he was a community leader who lead by example. If someone needed help Ed Thomas was the first to step forward no matter what. His life was cut short, but that does not lessen the contribution Ed Thomas made to his community and the kids he coach.

Many times we forget about the contributions that high school coaches make throughout the country in all types of sports. Ed Thomas was one of the good ones and his class, work ethic, and the lives he touched will always be remembered. if you do not believe me just ask any former player he coach what a difference he made in their lives. That was what Ed Thomas did and will be remembered for the difference he made in people’s lives.

This week we lost an icon that thrilled everyone with his music and touched many lives. Most people do not equate Michael Jackson with sports, but his music still is used by ball players even after his death. After hearing of his death many Major League players asked to use some of his songs as they walk to the plate or out of the bullpen. Several Milwaukee Brewer players did and are planning to use them longer as a tribute and respect for the great entertainer.

Most people do not realize that Michael jackson crossed many different boundaries and sports was just another one that he touched. His music will be around forever and will be missed, but his legacy will live forever and you might just hear his music at your favorite ball park as well.

LSU Baseball is back after a couple of down years as they went out and dominated Texas by a score of 11-4 to capture their sixth World Series title. The Tigers was not good enough two years ago to even make their conference tournament, but things have changed for the better for this baseball program.

The Tigers came ranked number one and they proved that ranking was not something people just put on paper they earned it. Texas was also a very good baseball team, but LSU was just a little better and that is why they are College Baseball World Series Champions for 2009.

Biba Golic is a name that may not ring a bell with you unless your a table tennis buff, but this beauty has great looks and a game that is tough to beat. Golic has built a reputation as one of the best table tennis players in the world and has beauty to match. Golic started playing table tennis at the age of nine years old. She has been called the Anna Kournikova of table tennis for she is a great spokesperson for the sport and with her beauty she has the ability to get people to listen to her. She is our Sports Lady of The Day!

 Today Ana Paula Mancino is our Sports Lady of The Day. This beauty is from Brazil and it seems women athletes are always so beautiful and she is no exception.  She plays volleyball which she is known for, but also is a photo model that has graced many covers and websites as well. This is a beauty that has everything going for her. Check her pics out below.
